Cycas revoluta, or sago palm, is a cycad gymnosperm that is located in the Cycadaceae family and can grow up to 12 feet. Pollen and eggs are encased in cone-like structures.

Sago palms were eaten by humans when crops were absent from a disturbance. If not processed properly before consumption, repeated consumptions of the sago palm leaves and seeds can cause death due to the toxicity of the plant.
