This flower is widely medicinal. It aids in diseases of the eye, stomach, kidney, tooth decay, and wounds (CABI, 2018).

It is soft-stemmed yet grows relatively tall with an urn-shaped purple flower at the terminal (CABI, 2018).

It produces an indehiscent achene fruit (CABI, 2018).
