This plant can grow directly in freshwater or near it (King County, 2018).

It's berries are midly toxic (King County, 2018).

It is native to the America's and grows as an invasive species in Asia and Africa (King County, 2018).

It is so invasive to other local plants that Washington has it on a quarantine list. This means no one can buy, sell or grow it (King County, 2018).
