• Flower: White simple shaped, 5 petals
• Leaves: both basal and a whorl of 3 to 10 leaves about midway up the stem, palmately compound in groups of 3, basal leaves have long stalks and are little larger than stem leaves, leaflets up to 4 inches long, hairy, deeply lobed in 3 to 5 parts, wedge-shaped at base with lobes fanning out
• Fruit/Seed: tiny brown seed attached to cottony fluff, cottony cones persist through winter
