Description ²

• Flower: White elongated cluster
• Leaves: single pair of opposite leaves on stem below flower cluster, 2½ inches long and 1½ inches wide, coarsely toothed, shallowly lobed in 3 parts, leaves may appear joined around stem but are not
• Fruit/Seed: bowl containing tiny, shiny black seeds
• Height: 10-18 inches
• Flowering: April - June
• Habitat: rich woods
