Flower: White elongated cluster
Leaves: up to 6 inches long and 2 inches across, elliptical in shape, tapering to a point, toothless, underside finely hairy, prominent parallel veins, folded some lengthwise, base of leaf clasps stem, stem slightly zig-zags between alternately attached leaves
Fruit/Seed: berry, ¼ inch diameter, green with purple stripes, ripen to solid reddish-purple
Height: 12-30 inches
Flowering: May - June
Habitat: moist meadows, edges of woods, shorelines
