Flower: White rounded cluster
Leaves: narrowly lance shaped and stalkless becoming smaller, bract-like in the flower cluster, sparsely hairy that diminishes with age, basal leaves palmately lobed
Fruit/Seed: seed heads with long, silky, white hairs on seeds giving the cluster an appearance of a dense ball of cotton when mature
Height: 6-24 inches
Flowering: May - June
Habitat: Woods, swamp
