Shape: Multi-stemmed understory tree
Leaf/Branch Arrangement: Opposite
Flower: White elongated cluster
Leaves: palmetely lobed, 3-5 lobes, toothed edges, heart shaped base, 5 ½ inches long
Bark: mottled grey
Fruit/Seed: pair of winged seeds, 1 inch long, wings at a 90 degree angle
Height: 10-25 feet
Flowering: June - July
Habitat: forests, thickets, conifer swamps
