Flower: Red bell shaped
Leaves: compound in groups of 3, leaflets up to 2½ inches long and wide, notched and/or lobed in 2 or 3 segments, on short stalks, lobes and notches rounded at tip
Fruit/Seed: 5 to 7 erect, green capsules, each ½ to 1 inch long with remains of spur forming a “tail” at top
Height: 1-3 feet
Flowering: May - July
Habitat: rocky woods and slopes, cliffs, bluffs
