• Flower: Yellow simple shaped, 5 petals
• Leaves: 4 inches long and 3 inches wide, lobed or deeply divided into 3 or 5 parts, long leaf stalks that become shorter towards top of plant, lobes coarsely toothed toward tip end and may be further divided with more shallow lobes
• Fruit/Seed: round seed head ¼ inch in diameter, seeds smooth with hook at tip of beak
• Height: 1-2 feet
• Flowering: May - June
• Habitat: woods, along streams, edges of swamps, floodplains
