Flower: Yellow simple shaped, 6 petals, drooping
Leaves: 3 inches long and 1 inch wide, tapering to a point at both ends, no stalk, distinct parallel veins on underside, main stem forks into 2 branches near top of plant, main stem sheathed on lower 1/3 of plant, will zig-zag between alternately attached leaves
Fruit/Seed: ¾ to 1¼ inch long capsule, oval to round with abrupt point at tip, tapering at base to a short stalk, 3 distinct winged edges around capsule
Height: 4-12 inches
Flowering: April - June
Habitat: moist woods, thickets
