• Flower: White simple shaped, 3 petals
• Leaves: up to 3½ inches long, to 2 inches wide, arrowhead shaped, basal lobes shorter than remainder of the blade, submersed leaves ribbon-like
• Fruit/Seed: globular head of beaked seeds, ½ inch diameter
• Height: 4-24 inches
• Flowering: July - September
• Habitat: ponds, marshes, lake shores
