INTRODUCTION

• Non Venomous
• Among so called Reed Snakes found in South Asia & SE Asia.

IDENTIFICATION

• Slender body with smooth scales.
• Creamy dorsal, sometimes a bit darker. Has a darker wide stripe running across back.

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT

• Spread throughout most of India, but very rare.
• Most specimens recorded are from the Western Ghats.
• Live around waterbodies.

DIET AND BEHAVIOR

• Feed on swamp eels, small fish and frogs..
• Very little known about this species.
