Brittany's Notes 3

Abundant in JLNHPP and in South Louisiana in general. Love urban settings. Look for different colors. Big web for a small spider. Will adorn web with fuzzy patches. Unsure of function/reason. Female straps male to web with silk before copulating. She will produce an egg sac and die. She cannot guard her eggs, but will produce an egg case that offers some protection. Look for the fuzzy yellow egg sacs on the underside of vegetation, such as palmetto fronds. They will overwinter.
