Brittany's Notes 3

Very abundant in this region. Where there is a good amount of water.. there are fishing spiders. If you walk through bottomland hardwood swamps with chest waders, you will get them all over you! Lateral white stripes that run from cephalothorax through the abdomen. Paired spots on the abdomen. Often found on the water's edge. Nocturnal ambush predator with moderately good eyesight. Adept at catching prey, including invertebrates, tadpoles, and fish. Sometimes post-metamorphic anurans. Very fast and will dive when threatened. Carry egg sacs in chelicerae.
