Artemisia arbuscula is a North American species of sagebrush known by the common names little sagebrush, low sagebrush, or black sagebrush. It is native to the western United States from Washington, Oregon, and California east as far as Colorado and Wyoming. It grows in open, exposed habitat on dry, sterile soils high in rock and clay content.

A small or dwarf shrub with irregular form, stiff branches typically forming a spreading crown. Base of shrub is typically below ground level. A. arbuscula grows in dry, sterile, and rocky soils, as well as alkaline clay soils. There are 2 subspecies in Nevada and 1 hybrid subspecies.

A. arbuscula subsp. longicaulis: hybrid of A. arbuscula and A. tridentata subsp. wyomingensis
