American Robin

Turdus migratorius

ID Notes 6

The American Robin, Turdus migratorius, is a common songbird in Western New York. American Robins are relatively large songbirds with a plump body, long legs, and fairly long tail. They are grayish in color birds with orange-red underparts and dark heads. White spots around the eye give the appearance of a broken eye-ring. A white patch on the lower belly and under the tail can be visible during flight.
