The Yellow Warbler, Setophaga petechia, is a common warbler species in Western New York. They are slightly larger than an American Goldfinch, and have medium-length tails, rounded heads, and a straight, thin bill. Yellow Warblers are uniformly yellow in color. Males are a bright yellow with reddish streaks on the underparts. Both sexes show yellow patches in the tail. Their face is unmarked, accentuating a large black eye.
