I am interested in long term ecological monitoring of Zygoptera (Damselflies), Vespula & Dolichovespula (Aerial and Ground Yellowjackets) and Bombus (Bumble Bees) in Alberta.

I've conducted extensive Damselfly surveys of Southern Alberta since 2003. In my spare time I enjoy travelling around southern Alberta and swinging a net at a road side slough to catch a damselfly or two. So far, I've come across 20 of the 23 species present in Alberta.

Here is a link to my website, www.insectsofalberta.com, which has photos and maps that show where I have encountered each of the different species of damselflies in Alberta.

If you are interested in Alberta Damselflies or Meadowhawks, I've created two projects you might be interested in joining:
Damselflies of Alberta: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/damselflies-of-alberta)
Meadowhawks of Alberta: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/meadowhawks-of-alberta
