hoping I Naturalist will assist me in identifying and quantifying the divesity of the natural creek and the portions which have been restored by native plantings.
The conservation of pollinators underscores broader ethical considerations regarding humanity's connection with nature. Pollinators are sentient beings capable of experiencing pleasure, pain, and suffering and, they merit ethical regard and empathetic care. Prioritizing pollinator conservation upholds environmental ethics, fosters reverence for non-human existence, and nurtures a balanced coexistence between humans and the wider ecosystem.
Hi all, any collaboration from fellow citizen scientists on this project is most welcomed. Anyone able to make a suitable banner for this project just let us know please.

A few adult Summer Azure butterflies appeared to be gleaning food from the surface of leaves over a period of a few days. Maybe it was nectar and/or pollen that had fallen from nearby trees? Or, honeydew from aphids? Clouds of pollen were visible during the preceding days. And, the Tulip Trees were blooming. Anecdotal information indicates that Tulip Trees generate significant quantities of nectar. Observations of the butterflies are attached below. They were exclusively on Wild ...

Good news.
Computer Vision Model has been updated.
https://www.inaturalist.org/blog/94499
The model can now identify the genus Acanthocyclops.
This is very good, because previously all Cyclopidae were identified as Eucyclops and there was a lot of manual correction required.
The model can now identify the following Copepoda taxa:
Family Diaptomidae
Family Sapphirinidae
Subfamily C...
I set the boundaries of this project to Europe and north Africa because I thought it would be too much differences in climate to include other areas and my personal and subjective work area is Europe. So I wanted to deal only with observations made in Europe and not in all the world, where other species, not interesting for the framework I set up.
But it might be very usefull to have a look at rest of the world observations of species which are presents in Europe.
So here...
Hello Harris Center 2024 Big Year iNatters!
April was a month hallmarked by the return of many deciduous plants and an increase in the abundance and diversity of animals and insects and, boy, do our iNat observations reflect that! Between the combination of many of us spending more time outdoors and the field season starting for many of our big year participants, collective iNaturalist numbers have skyrocketed. For the month of April alone, we made 1,687 observations of 533 uniqu...
Ecco che le nostre osservazioni cominciano ad affluire.
Appena avrete caricato le vostre immagini dovremmo vedere il lavoro svolto stamattina!
Per adesso siamo già a quota 31 osservazioni.
E andiamo
After reviewing Research Grade iNaturalist observations for our project area from June 24, 2017 to May 4, 2024, it appears that the Bioblitz resulted in 27 new plant species being recorded, all of them in Elsmere Canyon:

California False Indigo
Rancher's Fiddleneck
Chaparral Coyote Brush
Compact Brome
Peak Rushrose
Sand Pygmyweed
Durango Root
Wide-Throated Yellow Monkeyflower
Stretchberry
Shortpod Mustard

New umbrella project created including 17 projects about nature in built environment or human influence to nature. At least currently no bird-window collision projects added.
Exclusions:
9,5 cm (eraus)
8 cm (eraus)
Tiellä oli myös yhdet mäyrän jäljet.
Many of us are excited to be attending the Annual meeting of Native Plant Society members. Hopefully there will be a designated BioBlitz like they did for the Meeting last year. There are hikes being hosted from the Coast to the Valley. Unfortunately the boundaries of this particular Bioblitz don't reach that far. I hope that others will be out exploring the colors and blossoms that abound at this time of year.
If you are not a member of the Native Plant Society of Oregon yet...
Very exciting. I have added my next door neighbour to the project. So now we are recording everything that we find in our two gardens. H also has a small piece of agricultural land with a mature oak tree in, which is likely to attract many native species.
PLUS - big news. We have lots of baby froglets hopping around by the pond. There are still a lot of large tadpoles in the pond and many newts enjoying the feast, so I am delighted to see that some froglets have already made it ...

Used Google Maps to make the project boundaries. Uploading the boundaries to iNaturalist skewed them slightly. May need to edit. Otherwise, looks fine.
Please give suggestions how I can improve the accuracy of the boundaries!
