Lane County OR, the farthest north known site of this species by about 70 miles. Collected in 1934, again in 1969 and 1982. Population previously presumed extinct, currently appears to be stable. Significant find. Found within a collected specimen of Calicium viride housed at University of California, Riverside (also on consortium). It doesnt appear that this species was identified for this area before this.
Housed at University of California, Riverside (UCR). also contains Chaenotheca phaeocephala in same packet, see with brown thalli and much smaller stalk

Timing for this study was based on a 10-25-2018 sighting, which was probably 2 weeks late. Forest Service closures due to the Middle Fork Complex Wildfire made it infeasible to survey the area after the first soaking rains in late September.
