Bear’s Head Tooth mushroom or hericium americanum is probably one of the easiest mushroom to identify due to it's unique look. Native to North America, the white spines that are the mushroom range from 1 cm to 1/2 inch. The single spines all clump together to form a mass similar to a lion's mane. You might see this mushroom late summer or during the fall.

It's actually a red-listed threatened specie in 13 countries in Europe due to it's rarity and poor germination.
