I'm interested in all things new! and love sharing the little knowledge I have with other people, especially children (they are the Planets future!).
Moved to Texas from England, I have a background in Horticulture and Aquatic Biology with 40 years experience of practical conservation volunteering, from scrub clearance and picnic site construction to floral and bird surveys, as well as Volunteer Education Officer at the Suffolk Wildlife Trust(in England!). I have completed Texas Master Naturalist, Texas Stream Team, NPSOT Level 1,2 and 3 Certification and LANDS (Learning and New Dimensions in Science) Training.
I have moved from Azle, TX to White Settlement TX and am trying to build up a list of everything I find in the yard and surrounding area before it has a house put on top of it. I was working as Community Volunteer Coordinator. This included taking people on nature hikes around the City Complex, overseeing the construction of a Monarch Waystation and planting of city flowerbeds with native plants. I have started INat projects for the City and City Complex and High School to demonstrate to the visitors and residents how diverse the wildlife in a city can be! I am now teaching Aquatic Science at BHS in White Settlement and have set up a project at the school to encourage my students to look at the nature around them. Also anytime I see something new to me I attempt to get a picture to ID it to add to my lists. Thank you to anyone who helps with my ID's.
