Biologist and jack-of-all-trades for the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve in southwest Utah. Desert tortoises are the focus of my work, but I am also a passionate birder, and serve as a member of the Utah Bird Records Committee.

I have been aware of iNaturalist for years, although I haven't been active here until recently (July 2024). I am learning that this is a great resource for identification of plants, insects, and other subjects that I haven't had time to ID in the past. My current obsession is photographing/identifying insects here Washington County, and I have been amazed by how much cool stuff I find in my own backyard.

My greatest biological interests include vagrant records, edge of range records, and species records in fringe or unexpected habitats.
