Trained geologist expanding their knowledge into the biology calling our motu home.
Hard at work, hardly working member of HRC. I am graced by having exemplary workmates such as @conehead_nz to keep me thoroughly addicted to this platform as we plan our next outing into an area in need of a BioBlitz.
I'm a birder during summer and an invertebrate hunter during winter. No better way to reach 1000 species like taking photos of every crawling thing I can lay my lens on.
If you see me capturing hundreds of the same species, its because:
a) It is the only thing I'm able to see at that time of year
b) I have realized I can become the world no.1 observer for that species
c) I'm trying to get one gorgeous image of that one bird/bug/spider
d) I am the embodiment of bioblitzing
I shoot with some cameras and some glass, sometimes a phone if I want to test the ability of y'all for identifications. I aim to at least capture something legible and identifiable. Only the most for a tumeke community such as iNaturalist.
Feel free to tag me and @mhorwood if you're unsure about birds!
