Limata capensis (Wiedemann 1821) - Identification

Black with golden pile. Eyes with grey hairs, forming two bands of pile. Thorax black with long orange hairs on the sides. Abdomen: T1-3 have lateral orange patches, tergites with golden hind borders and golden hairs. Wings clear with dark stigma and infuscated costa. Legs with orange tibiae.

Common in the Western Cape.
Records from Namaqualand, Wallerkraal; Leipoldtville; Elands Bay; Clovelly, Cape Peninsula; 6t krn S of Clanwilliam; Pakhuis Pass; Cape Town; Arniston Dunes, Bredasdorp Dist; Ysterfontein.
Also, from Grootrivier, Plettenberg Bay and Willowmore.

It flies around buzzing conspicuously!
